A PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN MELBOURNE
Story Behind Picture
queenscliff
In early 2016, I woke up very early one morning and decided to photograph the sunrise as I couldn’t sleep anymore. This was very spontaneous trip to Point Londsdale which is around 100 kms from my home. As I arrived there, the sunrise was spectacular. Rain falling the night before added nice texture to the wooden decking on the pier. Furthermore, passing fisherman with food attracted flock of seagulls to the scene. Symmetrical composition captured it all perfectly.
Halong Bay, Vietnam
This image was captured while doing overnight boat cruise in Halong Bay, Vietnam. All of these boats pictured were anchored at this exact location. Early morning as the cruise was re-commencing, these three boats lined up perfectly for an image which i took from the deck of a boat. The mist, lit up boats, majestic rock formations give this image ethereal look which I love.
Mepunga
Scouted this location before my trip to Warrnambool. I decided to shoot sunrise here. When I got to this location the sky was overcast and gloomy. Walking from carpark to where I took the photo was uneasy as the sand is very soft and I carried my full photography gear. Trip back to the car was even more difficult as my shoes and pants got wet on the beach. While there, the clouds started to disperse and sunlight was bursting through. Needless to say I am very pleased with the image produced.
